Delhi Airport Metro to resume operations on Tuesday
The Delhi Metro is fully functional, with all its corridors operational at regular, pre-lockdown timings, from Saturday. Saturday is the first day since March 22 when Delhi Metro trains are running on the pre-lockdown schedule. Since the beginning of the week, when the Delhi Metro started reopening its network to commuters in a graded manner, the timings of the service have been limited to two shifts, morning and evening. This was primarily done to acclimatise commuters to the new rules of travel, meant to ensure social distancing. Since the reopening of the Metro, passenger movement on all of its corridors is witnessing a steady increase, which also means that DMRC will, from Saturday, face a greater challenge in crowd management.
New Delhi: After more than days of complete shutdown, the metro rail services in Delhi are likely to resume soon from June 1, the Live Hindustan reported on Monday. However, it wouldn't me same experience as it was earlier as there will no crowding at the metro stations or inside the trains. A total of 50 people will be allowed to travel in a coach and the longest eight-coach train will get passengers at a time. According to the new rules by the DMRC, the passenger will have to follow social distancing norms and maintain a distance of at least one-metre while travelling in the metro and that will be monitored by the metro security personnel through CCTV cameras.
