These people include the woman, her doctor, and the people she chooses to confide in. A great amount of women claim that they are not ready for a child or cannot afford to have one. Despite the desire to illegalize abortion, the pro-life movement does not actually do much to help women or their children. A pregnant woman is indefinitely left to decide whether or not abortion is the best decision for her. It addresses the controversial problem as to whether abortion is pro-choice or pro-life, but never answers this question. This allows the readers to reflect on this question as the mother, the fetus, and the abortion process itself. However, whether or not this essay is intended to be pro-life or pro-choice, those who support abortion, will only ever be those who are….

Hills Like White Elephants Theme

The best kind of literature are short stories. Ernest Hemingway shows the themes in his writing by being very obvious about some of them and not so obvious about others. This story became an instant classic, as it talks about the tail of The American and the girl, Jig, and their journey on a train that will take them to Madrid. The story focuses on a conversation between an American man and a woman ,Jig, at a Spanish train station while waiting for a train to Madrid.
Both are waiting for a train at a station in Spain. The author never intitles the topic of their discussion, but as their conversation progresses, it becomes clear that Jig is pregnant. By the way, the man is talking he wants Jig to have an abortion, but she is doubtful and would like to become a mother. At the end of the short story, it is unclear to what decision has been made. However, Hemingway gives the reader several clues regarding what Jig feels about the situation.
