At Oak Hill, we know how important it is for teachers and parents to work together to give your child the best start, and we recognise that the tasks you work on with your children at home really supports their learning in school. This term we are continuing to use our homework grids. These grids will have a selection of activities for your child to work on at home over the next ter, and many of these will be linked to topic work that is being completed in school. The Homework grid is stuck in your child's Homework book and you can also find it at the bottom of this page to download. Due to the current situation, we are unable to collect in the homework books on a weekly basis and return them back to you in the same week.

Y4 Homework - Oak Hill First School
There will be no new homework this week, but please can the children make sure that they learn the spellings posted last week, keep up the reading every day and use Times Tables Rockstars regularly. There will be no written Maths or MyMaths, spellings or grammar homework given out today. Please also log in and use Times Tables Rockstars two or three times over the week. Our current Maths topic is Multiplication and Division. Practising and learning the basic tables facts will enable the children to carry out bigger calculations more quickly. Even if the children know their tables, they can always challenge themselves to answer the questions more quickly, and they are expected to know the associated division facts too. Spellings this week: cheque, antique, grotesque, unique, catalogue, league, dialogue, colleague, fatigue, tongue.

A range of homework activities will be set for your child. All the activities are intended to support your child's learning in school either consolidating recently taught concepts, reviewing existing knowledge in advance of upcoming class work, or, in the case of the 'homework grid', allowing an opportunity to find out more about areas of our class Topic that your child is especially interested in. If children are falling behind or don't have access to a computer at home, they can arrange with me to complete it during lunch times at school. At the start of year 4, the following homework will be set:. Learn spellings: These will be shared on Google Classroom.
